Parokya Ni Edgar Middle-Aged Juvenile Novelty Pop Rockers

One of the most favorite band in the Philippines music industry "Parokya Ni Edgar" had already released there newest album Middle-Aged Juvenile Novelty Pop Rockers. The songs on these album shows how the band had grown up maturely as an artists but still remains comedic in their style of writing and arranging songs.

First here in my review is the song "Lolo Bye", I don't know what to do while listening on this song, should I sleep or bang until the end of the song. It was like listening a lullaby in a twist of rock.

The song "Ok Lang Ako" says what love can really do. It's about being faithful to an unfaithful, sacrificing for the sake of love and loving unconditionally. It's a tragic song that conveys a message that its better to be hurt sometimes than being sad for the whole life. Its shows the other side of being a Parokya Ni Edgar.

The song "One Hit Combo" featuring Gloc 9 is a tribute song for the artists who inspired the band on their starting days like Eraserheads and Francis M. Its a nice combination of a band and a rap artists. Its not hard to listen because its guitar driven.

The song "Orange" was my favorite on this album, its shows how artistic are the Parokya Ni Edgar members was, writing a song just all about an Orange fruit. It always reminds us that how small a thing is, it could still have a very nice story to be sung. I like its tune and hoe the way it was arranged.

"Original Song" tells how nice being in a band. It's really a Parokya Ni Edgar style with a little twist of Apo Hiking Societies' San Na Nga Ba Ang Barkada. It's a practical song for a band member who just want to rock n' roll for his entire life.

The song "Pakiusap Lang (Lasingin Nyo Ako) tells a story of a lover who just want to have a good time with his friends to forget his heartaches.

The song "Pangarap Lang Kita" tells a classic story, like movies, a poor boy being in love with a rich girl and a girl who can't express her feelings to a boy. This song could really happen in a real life that's why I'm sure many of its listeners could relate on this song, It also includes Korean lyrics on the song that maybe Korean lovers out there will sure want to check out. Hope they could relate on it too.

The song "Red Pants" reminds me of "The Beatles" and "The Platters". It's like listening to an old song. I like the way it was included on this wacky album (although the song was really wacky too). Maybe my parents would like it too. All I understand on this song is that "Red pants are not so good to look at" Lols. Good thing is I'm not really wearing red pants at all.

The song "Reunion (Panahon Ng Kasiyahan)" is like the later Parokya Ni Edgar rendering a song for a Fast Food jingle. Although its new lyrics is nice, I still like the original lyrics.

And last but not the least, the song "Walong Baso", I thought it's a song like "Tama Na Yan Inuman Na" but I was wrong. It's a nice song that tells us that it is important to drink 8 glasses of water a day. Maybe my little siblings should listen in this song. Maybe I should drink 8 glasses of water too to prevent sickness.
All in all, I could say that the album was good, I like the style, the band still remains as being a Parokya Ni Edgar as time goes by. Kudus Parokya Ni Edgar.

Rocksteady Live in Bohol

TM (Touch Mobile) ASTIGFEST bring Rocksteady live in Bohol as part of Sandugo Celebration. This four wacky guys just rock the Boholanos as they sung their hit singles like "Ayos Lang Ako", "Break Na Tayo", "Lagi Mo Nalang Akong Dinededma", "Leslie" to name a few. Teddy Curpos the lead singer of the band take the night to its highest level with his unique way to entertain people not just in singing but also in his joke that surely make everybody laugh, most remarkable thing he does was when his start singing "Narda by Kamikazee and Inserting three more song after singing their first song on that night "Ayos Land Ako" then he said this "O apat na kaagad yun, siguro naman pwede na kaming umuwi" that made the crowd keep asking for more songs.
Second is when he insert "Street Vending Love Poetry" on the song "Lagi Mo Nalang Akong Dinededma". Teddy seems to have a lot of jokes to spice up the concert. Hes just like a child playing on the spotlight, smoke machine and whatever he wants to do, he does it keeping his Rakista image on the stage.
Six lucky Boholanas are given a favor to kissed and be kissed by Teddy, he he he how amazing to be a rockstar having beautiful girls falling in line just to have a kiss.

The band really had its solid communication to its other. The lead guitarist was playful too strumming the strings and also the bassist and the drummer were both good that made the whole event loud and crazy.
"Boy Kulot" was the last song perforned by the band, it was stunning to have a grand finale like that. That concert was just short but its worth it. Maybe those who came to watch really enjoyed even after the whole day of Sandugo Festival Activities.

Only I don't like was the TM service on the event. Suppose to be they are selling tickets for Php20.00 each with a raffle coupon and a TM sim. But some of the tickets don't include the raffle coupon, a big lose of a chance of winning the prices on the draw. Another thing is, they have chair in front of the stage for VIP pass but they did not clearly announce how to avail the VIP pass that made us stay too far from the stage to take a close up picture of the band.
I could finally say that the band was good but the sponsor was totally a crap.
Good Job Rocksteady and Boo to the Touch Mobile Management.

Youth And Nation Building, According To Rico Blanco

For musician Rico Blanco, the role of young Filipinos in effecting change does not end after exercising their right to vote in the recent elections.
"Change will not come from a leader, it comes from the people," says Blanco, who used to be the lead singer for Rivermaya and an icon in the local music industry.

Renowned for being a prolific songwriter, he has written songs that are nationalistic in theme including Awit ng Kabataan, a modern-day anthem for the youth, and Posible, which was adopted as theme song by the Philippine team during the 2005 Southeast Asian Games.

While it's good that a lot of young Filipinos show interest in politics, Blanco says very few show interest in nation building. According to reports, the youth comprised almost half of the 50.7 million Filipinos who registered for the country's first ever automated polls.

"You don't just vote for a president and you think you did your part as a good citizen. Nation building is different from just voting (in the elections). But it's good that a lot of them went out to vote and we hope that momentum results in doing their part for nation building," he says.

Asked to comment on incoming set of leaders by June 30, Blanco says everyone should take a pro-active stance in supporting and advocating for government reform regardless of who sits as the country's president down to the local positions.

"I didn't endorse anyone (in the elections). Whoever the leader is, let's help out, huwag na tayong maging pasaway. Let's cooperate but remain vigilant as well. Bantayan natin kung may kalokohan na ginagawa. Kung wala naman, cooperate naman tayo. Yun ang kulang sa atin, sadly," he says.

And just last April 12 Charice debuted “Pyramid” music video in the U.S. with a 24-hour exclusive on www.oprah.com. Greyhoundz Live In Bohol

Last night April 30, 2009, i was watching this rock band Greyhounndz performed live in Bohol. The event was sponsored by Touch Mobile (TM) in part of Tagbilaran City Fiesta. This four membered band (2 Boholanos, 1 from Part of Mindanao and 1 Ilocano) just rock the Tagbilaran City Port.

It was also a night of surprises like games, free shirts (that unfortunately i did not got one for myself LOLz) and raffles draws of course sponsored by TM. The entrance was only 30 pesos with 1 free raffle coupon and a free TM Sim Card. Their are also local Boholano Bands who did there performance like the Brownbuds and other Boholano uprising bands before the main event of the night.

It was a loud performance and the crowd just bang their there heads to the fullest. The screams, the lights and the music really make a remarkable feeling watching their performed. Most favorite tracks include "Shoot to Kill", "Alak Pa", "Battle Cry", the Bisayan song "Gunner" and of course the song who completed the night with its remarkable screams "hupaw huhupaw huhupaw" the song "Pigface".

Also the DJs of Local Boholano FM station with their stunning beauty who rule the show added spices on the event.

New York Post Crowns Charice As New Pop Princess

International singer Charice has been dubbed a "newly crowned pop princess" by the New York Post.

Charice's song "Pyramid" was cited in New York Post's PopWrap's fave five article for March 17. (http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/popwrap/popwrap_fave_five_dHI00FY5PWSGTY83...) It identified Charice as a "new little chick...who's mountain-and-valley vocals (that means range, kids) are the only reason you will need to fall in love with her sound."

The article also featured four other songs including Psapp's "Mister Ant," Lady GaGa's "Telephone: an Electrolightz remix," Gin Wigmore's "Don't Stop" and Matisse's "Better Than Her." It added that this week's fave five "will have your bottom uncontrollably shimmying out of your kilt."

Chicosci Gains Ground In Asia

With a rock solid local following and a string of chart-topping hits, Filipino rock band Chicosci is currently conquering Asia as they further gain ground in the regional music scene. Having already toured in countries like Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, the band recently wrapped up a show last February in Hong Kong with post-hardcore legends, Glassjaw. Being huge fans of the New York-based band, the boys describe the opportunity of a lifetime. Asked about their experience, vocalist Miggy Chavez muses in disbelief, “Not in a million years did we think we’d be opening for our heroes. It was never on our ‘to-do list’ because we always thought it wouldn’t be possible.”

Aside from Glassjaw, Chicosci has also opened for other popular international acts like Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte and Thursday. In a recent show in Manila, Saosin vocalist Cove Reber got a chance to hear Chicosci’s music and responded in recent tweet, saying “Listening to (Typecast) and Chicosci. I miss those dudes. Journey's Arnel Pineda Says Sorry To NHI

Arnel Pineda, the Filipino frontman of rock band Journey, apologized Tuesday to the National Historical Institute (NHI) for singing the Philippine national anthem incorrectly during the March 13 bout between Pinoy boxing champ Manny Pacquiao and Ghanaian challenger Joshua Clottey.

"I apologize for my dissatisfactory performance dun sa fight ni Pacquiao and Clottey sa Dallas, Texas, according to their standards. What can I do? I'm just doing my job... but then again hindi ako sorry kasi artistic freedom ko yon. It doesn't make me less of a Filipino dahil sa nabago ang pagkakanta," Pineda said in an abs-cbnNEWS.com interview.

Pineda said that he really did his best to represent the country while singing the anthem. The NHI earlier said it is looking into the possibility of filing a complaint against him.

"Ano ba ang bago? 'Yong traditional na pagkanta ng 'Lupang Hinirang' ang gusto nilang marinig. On my part, I'm just doing my artistic freedom. I was there as Filipino representing Pacquiao and the Philippines. 'Yun ang importante," Pineda added.

On Monday, Teddy Atienza, chief of NHI’s Heraldry Section, told abs-cbnNEWS.com that the board was not pleased when it heard Pineda’s version of “Lupang Hinirang” during the Pacquiao-Clottey fight in the United States.

Atienza lamented that Pineda sang the anthem slowly instead of of its original march tempo. He also scored the singer for belting out the last 2 words of “Lupang Hinirang” and being out of tune.

He said this was a clear violation of Republic Act (RA) 8491. RA 8491 prescribes that any person who will violate its provisions may be punished by a fine of at least P20,000 or imprisonment of not more than one year.

Pineda, meanwhile, admitted that he went off-pitch near the end of the song because he could no longer hear himself sing.

"Alam ko naman na nag-flat ako kasi ang parte na yon na nagsimula ng magsigawan ang tao. Wala akong ear monitor. Hindi ko na marinig ang sarili ko noong pumapasok ako doon sa line na 'lupa ng araw ng luwalhati't pagsinta.' Sumisigaw na sila, highlight ng melody ng kanta 'yon sa unti-unti hindi ko naririnig," he said.

Aside from his performance, Pineda is also being criticized for wearing a cowboy-inspired polo instead of the traditional Barong Tagalog.

In the interview, the crooner cleared that what he wore during the Pacman-Clottey bout was a modern Barong Tagalog made by Filipino fashion designer Ariel Agasang.

"Barong 'yon. 'Yon ang modern barong gawa ni Filipino designer na si Ariel Agasang na siya ding gumawa ng damit para kay Piolo Pascual," he said.

Martin defends Arnel

Pineda was not the first singer to be reprimanded by the NHI for singing the anthem wrong. Other singers who have been reprimanded by the NHI are balladeer Jennifer Bautista, Christian Bautista, international singing sensation Charice and Concert King Martin Nievera.

In an interview with ABS-CBN's morning show "Umagang Kay Ganda," Nievera said Pineda performed very well during the Pacquiao-Clottey fight.

"Well unang-una ginawa niya yon from the heart. Obviously binago din ang ending. For me, I see nothing wrong with that dahil hindi naman ako kasama sa NHI. For me, I think Arnel did a very good job," he said.

Nievera also said that as a rocker, Pineda should be given some leeway if he went off-pitch during the song.

"Well siguro si Arnel pinili niya 'yong isang key na masyadong mataas ang umpisa. Pero feeling ko lang dahil siyempre lead singer ng Journey, rock and roll yan, ang mga rockers kasama sa boses nila 'yan na may konting basag o kanting paos o konting crack sa voice so parang poetic license yon para sa isang rock singer katulad ni Arnel," Nievera said.

Nievera also shared that singing live in front of thousands of screaming fans could cause any singer to hit some bad notes.

"Kasama din 'yon na may konting nerves at konting excitement din. Siyempre, maraming pride 'yon na tumatakbo sa utak at puso niya. May pride din. Kasama din yun sa 51,000 screaming fans," Nievera said.

While saying that Pineda had nothing to apologize for, Nievera did advise the Journey frontman to get a lawyer who will help him write a letter of apology to the NHI.

Senti: Ang Song That Makes Me Cry But Still I Love To Listen And Sung A Lot

This is a story about me and of course a girl that i won't be telling her name for her own sake. This girl don't know how much I love her, I can't tell her because she's in love with someone, her boyfriend. I always pretend to be just her close friend, adviser, comforter every time she needs me just to keep in touch of her. One day she texted me, i know that time she had a big problem and I'm right, she had trouble with her guy, of course i have to make her feel OK because that's my only rule for her life. I did not report on my work just to be with her, we eat together in lunch and after that we decided to have a sing-a-long trip just to kill our time, every time she sung a song I fell she dedicated that for her boyfriend, it hurts me but at the same time I'm happy at that moment that we're together. When its my turn to sing I sung this song "Senti" shes not a fan of this song and even shes unfamiliar. Before I started singing i said that that song was for here, so that caught up her attention.

As i sung the song I changed some of the lyrics so she won't realize that that would be the thing i want to say to her. Instead of saying "Sumama naman ako kasi crush kita" I changed it to "Sumama naman ako kasi friend kita". In fairness that made her laugh, when the song is nearly in complete there's a lyrics saying "Ako mahal kita" I stopped singing because i don't know what to do, should i sung it that way or I changed the lyrics again. I don't want to sung it that way because I don't want here to know that's exactly how I feel for her, that I love her. and the song continued repeating the lyrics "Mahal na mahal" in several times, and I decided to whisper it instead singing it out loud.

While Im whispering the song she stand up and confronted me if is it true that i love her, I did not answer here, all i think is she still have a boyfriend, they got trouble but still they did not split up. I changed the topic and she forgot asking me again that way.

After the fun, we decided to go home, I'm so happy reminiscing what just happen to us. 8:00 PM on the evening i recieved a text from her thanking me for a very fun moment we just shared, I replied that I really enjoy it too and thank her in return. After a few minutes she replied, telling me that they are OK now with her boyfriend.

On that time I don't know what should i feel, should I be happy for her, should i feel sad. I don't know, all i want to do now is to listen to this song "Senti", listen, sung, think about her and my miserable love for her.

Nicole Scherzinger has confirmed she is going to be joined by a host of new Pussycat Dolls.

The singer has seen two members of the girl group, Kimberly Wyatt and Ashley Roberts, quit in the last week but rather than be worried for the band’s future Nicole is excited about the new members coming in.

Nicole – who has been in discussions with group founder Robin Antin about the incoming members - said: 'We're going to have a new cast of Dolls. And I'm excited.'

The 31-year-old pop beauty has been in the studio working on new material for the next Pussycat Dolls album and insists fans should start getting excited.

She added to MTV News: 'Right now I've been in the studio working on music non-stop. We're going to have another Pussycat Dolls album for all of our fans out there, but that's going to be late this year.

"I'm still Nicky Doll. And I'm just ploughing away in the studio making music that I love."

However, not all of the tracks Nicole is currently working on will definitely make the next Pussycat Dolls album.

She explained: 'I don't know if I'm going to put all the new music out under my name yet or if it's going to be perfect for the Dolls.

Celebrities paid tribute to Filipino music icon Francis Magalona on Saturday in a mix of sorrow and celebration, exactly a year after the rapper-songwriter succumbed to leukemia.

Magalona's actress-daughter Maxene, clad in shirts bearing her father's face, led a group of rappers in singing the Magalona hits "Man from Manila" and "Higante" on the noontime show Eat Bulaga.

The show's hosts, led by Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon, presented a bust of the rapper to his family led by his widow Pia Magalona.

"Ngayong araw na nagpaalam tayo [kay] Kiko Magalona..Pasasalamat na rin ito para sa buong pamilya Magalona sa pagbibigay sa amin ng pagkakataon na maging bahagi ng Eat Bulaga si Francis Magalona. Tanggapin niyo ito mula sa lahat ng nagmamahal kay Kiko. Ito ang alaala ni Kiko. Patuloy na mananatili siya sa ating mga puso," a teary-eyed Sotto said.

(On this date we said goodbye to Kiko Magalona. Now it’s also to say thanks to the whole Magalona family for giving us the chance for Francis Magalona to be part of Eat Bulaga. Accept this [token of appreciation] from all who love Kiko. This is in his memory. He will remain always in our hearts.)

'Pilipinas Got Talent' Discovers A Young Arnel Pineda?

The country's (Philippines) biggest talent search show, "Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT)," has found a gem in 16-year-old contestant Jovit Baldivino from Batangas.

The judges – Kris Aquino, Ai Ai delas Alas, Freddie Garcia – have been blown away by Baldivino’s “unbelievable” voice as he performed his own version of Journey’s “Faithfully” during the audition.

The episode was aired on ABS-CBN on February 27.

Baldivino got 3 yes from Garcia, Aquino and Delas Alas, who were all impressed by his perseverance and drive to get his family out of poverty.

Delas Alas was also moved to tears when Baldivino said: "Kahit po ako ay matalo dito, okay lang po. Basta po naipakita ko po sa inyo kung ano ang tunay na Pinoy.”

"Alam mo magandang example ka sa mga nanonood ng ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’ kasi tumutulong ka sa pamilya mo," Delas Alas commented.

Aquino chimed in: "And apart from that, pinagsasabay mo ang pag-aaral, ang pagtulong sa pamilya at ngayon you're on the road to stardom."

The 4th year high school student is selling siomai after his class to help his family.

The shy boy from Batangas said his goal is to finish his studies and, if given a chance, become a popular singer.

The Black Eyed Peas hold at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a second week with "Imma Be." The track returns to the top of Digital Songs for a second frame after abdicating the lead spot to "We Are The World 25: For Haiti" by Artists for Haiti for the past two weeks.

Young Money moves into the Hot 100 runner-up slot with "BedRock," a new peak for the track. Returning to its prior peak is Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now" which climbs 5-3. It held the same spot three weeks ago.

Chris Brown Pursues New Girl In "Whose Girl Is That?" Video

Before sexting became all the craze among teenagers, a still ingenuous Chris Brown was using his mobile phone to swoop a young lady off her feet... by calling her.

"Whose girl is that? she's supposed to be the one I'm getting at / I wonder who she talking to on the phone / I know it's not me so I'm trying to get on," a 13-year-old C. Breezy sings in a pubescent voice as he pursues a young lady in the video to "Whose Girl Is That?" The clip hit the net.

Wearing a throwback Drunken Monkey tee-shirt, the video begins with Brown searching for inspiration in the studio. His thoughts soon drift to memories of a girl he'd come across at the park while playing basketball with his friends, and his attempt to catch the girl's attention as she engages in a phone conversation.

In the end, it turns out Brown is the person the girl had been chatting with all along, as the two finally unite outside the venue he'd just performed at.

Lil Wayne Set To Test How Jails Handle Celebs

Lil Wayne may be a self-professed gangsta with the gunshot wound to prove it, but he's made plenty clear how he feels about doing time behind bars.

"I'd rather be pushin' flowers," he raps in 2008's "A Milli," "than to be in the pen sharin' showers."

He might have to get used to it. At the apex of a career that has made him one of music's biggest sellers, the Grammy-winning artist is expected to start a yearlong jail term Tuesday after pleading guilty in a New York City gun case.

It would make him the latest in a string of rappers to go to jail after rising to fame - and the latest celebrity inmate to test law enforcement officials' ability to draw the line between providing special treatment and recognizing potential risks to high-profile convicts.

"It's a challenge," said Martin Horn, a former head of the New York City jails, where Lil Wayne's plea agreement calls for him to serve his sentence.

"It's not about setting (a celebrity) on a bed of roses, but it is about an obligation to every inmate to keep him safe."

For now, jail officials say only that they will assess the multiplatinum-selling Lil Wayne as they do every other new arrival and find an appropriate place for him among the city's roughly 13,000 inmates.

He might follow the path of rapper Foxy Brown, who spent about eight months in 2007 and 2008 in city jails on a probation violation after pleading guilty to assault in a fracas at a nail salon. Because of threats against her, she was held largely in protective custody in a cell of her own, with access to a day room, said Horn.

Defense lawyer Stacey Richman said she intends to ask for protective custody for Lil Wayne, as well as for attention to dental problems that postponed his sentencing by two weeks. "If Wayne had his druthers, he would not be asking for anything for himself," Richman said, but she said she was concerned for his health and safety.

Some jail officials prefer to hold even famous convicts in circumstances as ordinary as possible - a desire the inmates sometimes share.

Prison consultant Herbert J. Hoelter, whose clients have included epic fraudster Bernard Madoff and NFL quarterback Michael Vick, generally tells clients not to request anything special.

Otherwise, "you'll be viewed by other inmates and the prison system as thinking that you're 'more deserving,'" he says.

Madoff is now serving a 150-year federal prison sentence. He spends his nights in the lower bunk of a cell he shares with a drug offender, eats pizza cooked by a child molester and takes nighttime strolls around a prison track for fun, according to a lawsuit filed by an investors' attorney who interviewed Madoff in prison in July. Madoff's lawyer didn't immediately return a call Friday.

Prison officials have good reasons to try to treat famous inmates like any others, lest they face criticism for catering to celebrities.

The police union in Greenwich, Conn., slammed the town's police chief for letting ex-Supreme Diana Ross keep a cell phone and make a trip home while she was serving a two-day jail term in 2004. She had pleaded no contest to an Arizona drunken-driving charge and arranged to serve the sentence in her hometown. The police chief said he thought she was allowed to do her time in two blocks and hadn't known about the phone.

But if celebrities shouldn't get coddled, they also face particular risks behind bars, prison experts and defense lawyers say. Fellow prisoners may want to make a name for themselves by challenging famous inmates - or cozying up to them in hopes of sharing in their fame after release.

"Being prominent gets you noticed, and being noticed in prison is generally not very good," New York defense lawyer Benjamin Brafman said.

For that reason, New York state prisons sometimes put celebrities together in protective custody units, where they interact with each other but not the prison population at large, spokeswoman Linda Foglia said.

Ex-New York Giant Plaxico Burress and former "Sopranos" actor Lillo Brancato Jr., for example, have been in the same unit at an upstate prison, she said. Burress is serving two years after pleading guilty to a weapons charge; Brancato is serving 10 years on an attempted burglary conviction.

Some celebrities find their stature an asset behind bars.

"I get a lot of love from the inmates. They are familiar with my work, watching my growth over my career," rapper Gucci Mane recently told The Associated Press from the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, where he is serving a six-month sentence on a probation violation.

"I love the fact that I'm a rapper. But behind these walls, I'm just another African-American coming up in the South. A lot of these brothas share the same with me. We have a bond."

Lil Wayne, 27, pleaded guilty in October to attempted criminal possession of a weapon, admitting having a loaded gun on his tour bus in July 2007. He could end up serving only about eight months with good behavior.

The artist - who accidentally shot himself in the chest when he was 12 and told interviewer Katie Couric "I'm a gangsta" last year - has been a rapper since his teens and a superstar in recent years.

His "Tha Carter III" - a reference to his real name, Dwayne Carter - was the best-selling album of 2008. His latest album, "Rebirth," was released this month.

Ashley Roberts has left the Pussycat Dolls.

The blonde singer has decided to quit the girl group to pursue other interests but insists she is 'grateful' to have been part of the band.

She wrote on her blog (ashleyroberts.tumblr.com): 'Yes I have left the Pussycat Dolls. I am so grateful to have the love and support of all of you. It was an amazing ride and I learned so much.'

The 28-year-old star is now looking to move into acting and presenting.

She added: 'I currently have got the acting bug and am falling in love with it. I shot a pilot for MTV as a host... and had a blast w my girl Aubrey Oday, Marques Houston and Record producer Ghost. (sic)'

Ashley’s Pussycat Dolls bandmate Kimberly Wyatt has also left the group.

In an interview with Loaded magazine, the singer announced her departure from the chart-topping band to 'push on' with her own life.

She said: ''I’ve left the group. I am so thankful for everything the Pussycat Dolls has brought into my life. But I have to say there were just too many variables that I couldn’t agree with. So I decided to push on with my own life.'

Kimberly – who has made no secret of her strained relationship with Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger – decided to leave because the band was making her unhappy.

She added: 'Money and fame can’t buy happiness. Ultimately, once I started to get to know myself more and more I was like, 'You know, I don’t think that my happiness is within this group right now.’

'I wish that it was different because I love being a Doll, but as far as the variables off-stage are concerned – I just couldn’t do it anymore.'

In December, choreographer Robin Antin - who founded the group in its first incarnation as a dance troupe in 1995 – revealed she was looking for new members.

She said at the time: 'Nicole is going back in the studio and there will be a few new faces in the Pussycat Dolls. I'm really excited about it.'

Spanish tennis player superstar, Rafael Nadal is featured in Shakira’s new musiv video ‘Gipsy.’ The popular singer Shakira has opened up about her decision to cast Rafael Nadal in a new music video and insists she picked the tennis ace to be her leading man because she “identifies” with him. The Colombian singer had sparked reports of a new romance with Nadal when they were photographed meeting together, shortly before filming a steamy promo for Shakira’s new single “Gypsy”.

“Shooting this video with Rafa was a great experience, he is very sweet and made it easy and fun,” said Shakira. “He and I have so much in common — starting out so young in our respective careers and traveling the world — I felt this would translate the spirit of the lyrics in the song and I was thrilled he wanted to be a part of it.”

The video for Gypsy and “Gitana” (the Spanish version) were shot in Barcelona, Spain by Shakira’s longtime collaborator Jaume De Laiguana. The sexy video captures a flirtatious and playful onscreen chemistry between Shakira and Rafael Nadal who plays the love interest. The inventive mix of mandolin, banjo and sitar on “Gypsy” weaves a tale of a transient drifter. The video will debut worldwide on February 26th on Yahoo.com and MTV worldwide.

“It has been a great experience and I had a lot of fun doing it. I had some time in between tournaments and preparation and could not miss this opportunity,” commented Rafael Nadal of his role in the video. “Shakira, as always, was spectacular. OWL CITY, headed by 22 year old front man Adam Young, the genius behind the hit song Fireflies, shall pave his way to Manila for a live concert at the SMX Convention Center on March 14, 2010.

Thanks to his hit song, Fireflies, his rise to fame enjoyed a pace that not many new artists get to enjoy especially if they are categorized in a new genre. Critics call his sound, electro – pop. In the language ofFireflies aficionados, the song was simply a breath of fresh air. Lady Gaga took an HIV test after panicking about her behaviour on tour.

The 'Bad Romance' singer recently had a sexual health screening in New York because she 'forgot' to look after her body properly when she was performing live shows for The Monster Ball Tour concerts.

She said: "I had an HIV test two days ago - and it's not because I'm taking off my clothes every night with a different man. When I'm on the road, I forget about taking care of my body. I don't go to the doctor as regularly as if I were in one place all the time. So I woke up and thought, 'Oh, I'm home in New York. I'm going to see my gyno and I'm getting an HIV test.' "

The 23-year-old star – who is believed to be dating her stylist and friend Matthew Williams – has made it her personal mission to make it "fashionable" for women to carry condoms and practise safe sex.

She told MarieClaire.com: "You put that condom in your purse and save your own f**king life. And don't call me in a week and cry. Because you know that infamous call from your girlfriend – 'Oh, my God, I got caught up, and I was afraid he wouldn't like me.' I mean, what year is it? It's scary, but I want it to be fashionable to be smart."

Lady Gaga recently blasted contradictory attitudes to sexuality which let men be more vocal about their conquests than women.

MYX Brings The Korean Boyband Super Junior To The Philippines

Korean pop continues to invade the country as MYX, the number one music channel in the Philippines and Pulp Live Productions proudly presents one of Korea’s most popular and most in-demand boy bands Super Junior as they visit Pinoy fans this coming April for their concert "The Super Junior Super Show 2" this April 10 at the Araneta Coliseum, as part of their Asian Tour.

The Black Eyed Peas continue their futuristic video kick with the just-unveiled clip for "Imma Be," in which they alternately fight, run, fly through tunnels and preside over dance battles between "Transformers"-meets-"Halo" robots straight from the year 3008.

The ten-minute video mashes up "Imma Be," the Peas' current top 5 hit, with "Rock Your Body," another club thumper from the group's album "The E.N.D." It's got everything from hovercrafts to breakdancing, plus a semi-disturbing sequence in which member Taboo is assembled from a pair of walking legs and a limp torso. Spoiler alert: in the clip's accompanying intro and outro videos, it's revealed that the whole thing is a product of Fergie's hallucination - like the dream season of "Dallas" for the new millennium, if you will.

The 'Rude Boy’ singer was 'shocked' by the bash put together by baseball player Matt Kemp in Phoenix, Arizona - where Kemp is currently training - as she was only expecting a small gathering of friends.

A source said: 'It was so sweet and she was really surprised. She looked just beautiful.'

Matt organised Caribbean food to be served to Barbados-born Rihanna and also reportedly bought her a custom-made diamond necklace.

The party was extra-special for Rihanna as she cancelled her 21st birthday celebrations last year in the aftermath of her assault at the hands of then-boyfriend Chris Brown early in February 2009.

The source added to website 'E! Online’: 'Matt really wanted to do something nice for Rihanna this year since she didn’t have much of a 21st birthday last year. It was just her closest friends, good Jamaican food, a photo booth, dancing and a nice cake.' The country’s top artists jam with the country’s most active youth today in the first ever grand eyeball-concert of ABS-CBN’s army of boto patrollers in “Ako ang Simula: Himig ng Pagbabago” on Friday (Feb 19), 6 PM, at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) parade grounds and athletic field.

Musical performers Parokya ni Edgar, Kamikazee, Barbie Almalbis, Moonstar88, Rocksteddy, Bituin Escalante, Bayang Barrios, Kjwan, Pochoy, Peryodiko, Astro Juan, Julianne, and many more will take the lead and rock it out for change together with ABS-CBN respected anchors and reporters.

If you have a heart loving music and youre fellow people, theres anyway to help, like this artists making another history in music, reviving "We Are The World" a song composed by the late Micheal Jackson and sung 25 years ago by those big artists in music industry that time. Although some critics did not agreed about remaking the song, for me it is still good, it touches people heart, it reminds us that we live for each other and we also die for each other, no one live and die by just himself.

The music video of the song was directed by the Academy Award-winning writer-director Paul Haggis (Crash, Million Dollar Baby). This features over 80 artists and performers. The recording of We Are The World 25 For Haiti embodied the same enthusiasm, sense of purpose and generosity as the original recording 25 years ago. `My Sharona` Singer Dies Aged 57

Doug Fieger, singer for The Knack, has died of cancer at the age of 57.

The Knack were best know for writing the classic 1979 hit `My Sharona`.

Lead singer Doug Fieger lost his battle with cancer on Sunday (February 14, 2010). He was 57.

Sharona is a real person. Doug Fieger met Sharona Alperin when she was 16. She is now a real estate agent in Los Angeles.

Guitarist Berton Averre wrote the riff years before he joined The Knack.

Even George W. Bush has the song on his iPod.

The Knack released 'Get The Knack’ in 1979. It was a number one album around the world. The next record 'But The Little Girls Understand’ reached no. 15. The third album 'Round Trip’ in 1981 stalled at no. 93.

The Knack broke up in 1982 but reformed in the 90s failing to repeat the original success.

Fieger had been battling lung and brain cancer for a number of years.

In October 2008 he told undercover.com.au that he was undergoing chemotherapy but his condition had been stable for two years. 'It metastasized to my brain and sent microscopic cells into my body that have, over time, been collected by my lymph system. These are very pernicious and hard to treat'.

Doug had two brain tumors removed in August 2006. "The bad news is that this chemo is the last one that is available to me unless some clinical trial comes up so if it doesn't work I'm SOL ! Oh well .....,' he told Undercover in 2008.

Bruce Gary, the drummer for The Knack died from cancer in 2007 at the age of 55.

Madonna Forces 200 Villagers To Move House

Madonna’s planned Malawian school has forced 200 villagers to move house.

The singer has reportedly paid out more than $115,000 to compensate the residents of Blantyre, Malawi, after they were ordered by government officials to make way for her $15 million Raising Malawi Girls Academy.

An official from the commissioner’s office said: "The district commissioner for Lilongwe told the villagers to move off the land and make way for the construction of the academy because it was government land reserved for development projects.'

The villagers had reportedly threatened to block the project – which aims to provide education to 500 impoverished children – unless they were given more cash after being paid $500,000 by the 51-year-old star’s Raising Malawi foundation.

However, they were reportedly told by Anjimile Mtila-Oponyo, a senior official for the charity, they had been given "generous compensation" and had no reason to complain.

According to the source, a local chief advised the residents to 'accept the reality as there is nothing we can do".

The group have been relocated to other villages.

Madonna has two adopted children from Malawi, Mercy, five, and David, four, as well as biological kids Lourdes, 13, and Rocco, nine.

Endorsing Candidate 'Tricky' For Singers, Bands

MANILA, Philippines - Aside from television and movie stars, politicians are also turning to popular bands and singers to boost their campaigns this 2010.

Among the latest singers to endorse a candidate is pop star Sarah Geronimo, who has endorsed Nacionalista Party standard-bearer Manuel Villar.

Geronimo was tapped to sing Villar's campaign theme "Naging Mahirap," for a reported sum of P20 million. The NP did not confirm the amount paid to Geronimo.

Lakas-Kampi-CMD presidential bet Gilberto "Gibo" Teodoro, meanwhile, has launched new ads featuring popular band Rivermaya, who are seen in the video performing the theme song "Sulong Gibo."

Some bands, however, insist that though they agree to sing campaign jingles or songs for a candidate, that does not automatically mean they are endorsing him or her.

Ely Buendia of the rock band Pupil said that they have been approached by some politicians' handlers to lend some of their songs or to endorse a particular candidate.

However, Buendia, who used to front the seminal 90s said that they will think thoroughly before deciding whom to endorse.

"Right now, we are not endorsing any candidates. First and foremost, banda kami (we are a band). We are musicians and artists. We try to put politics out of the way. We just want to play music," Buendia said.

Meanwhile, the band Hale said they are ready to perform for a candidate whose platform they believe in. "It depends on the candidate. What's their advocacy?," said one of the band's members.

The band SpongeCola, meanwhile, said that they will endorse a candidate if the 'price is right.' Other bands, such as Chichosci, said that they won't allow politicians to ride on their popularity.

Despite differing stands on endorsements, the bands all enjoined voters not to vote for candidates based on the celebrities who endorse them, but by what a candidate can do for the country.

Sarah Geronimo Endorses Manny Villar

MANILA, Philippines – Pop princess Sarah Geronimo is the newest addition to the roster of celebrities endorsing Nacionalista Party standard bearer Sen. Manny Villar.

Geronimo sang Villar’s latest political jingle titled “Naging Mahirap” during the launching of Katropa, a youth group organized by Villar's daughter, Camille. Geronimo has been named the campaign's ambassadress.

Villar's camp said it recognizes Geronimo's patience and hard work that resulted in her success.

The senator's camp, however, refused to confirm if Geronimo was paid P20 million in exchange for her endorsement.

Geronimo, on the other hand, said she believes television host-actress Kris Aquino will not take it against her once she learns that she is supporting Villar in the coming May elections. Kris’s brother, Liberal Party (LP) standard bearer Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, is currently Villar’s biggest rival in the presidential race.

Aside from Geronimo, Villar had earlier gained endorsements from Comedy King Dolphy and popular noontime host Willie Revillame.

Villar, meantime, defended himself from critics who are hitting him for getting celebrity endorsers and spending huge amounts in his campaign. He pointed out that, unlike the LP standard bearer, he has no popular parents nor strong connections in show business.

Villar also denied claims that he is the real candidate of President Arroyo, and that they made a secret pact assuring President Arroyo's position in Congress.

MYMP Introduces New Vocalist, Will It Be The Same Without Juris?

Acoustic band MYMP has found the replacement for vocalist Juris Fernandez who left the group last October for a solo career. The new vocalist, Juliet Bahala, is an 18-year-old regional singing champion from Davao. She was officially introduced to the public just in time to deliver great music this February. MYMP, which stands for Make Your Momma Proud, welcomes the Valentine’s Month with this new milestone.

The group, with Juliet in tow, is set to do a pre-Valentine’s Day concert at the Music Museum titled “MYMP Now” this February 12. Chin Alcantara, MYMP guitarist and founder, said he was impressed by Juliet’s demo tapes and she is a welcome addition to the group.

It was October last year when Juris Fernandez left the band for creative and personal reasons and pursued her solo singing career. Fernandez signed a contract with Star Records after leaving MYMP.

The group, when Fernandez was still around, was able to do six albums and later on was chosen as the 1st PMPC Star Awards Best Duo/Group Artist of the Year for Music.

Though with new vocalist, Alcantara cleared that the group will not shift from acoustic music to a new genre.

Juris quit the duo after Chin “booted” her and her manager Carla Lozada out due to disagreement over an “exposure” in the A.S.A.P. Sessionista.

Juris is slated to launch her long-overdue solo album under Star Records, with five songs produced by Chin. The other original cuts were done by Jimmy Antiporda, Ryan Cayabyab and Gary Valenciano.

But still, Juris and Chin still have commitments as a duo until end of this year and they will honor them.

Now supporters of the duo comprising the famous singing group, Juris and Chin, are sharing their thoughts about the issue, and the allegations regarding the break-up. We received an email thru our Facebook account covering the two sides of the splitsville, one from a supporter of Juris, the other from a supporter of Chin. Sino ba ang mapagkakatiwalaan at dapat nating simpatiyahan?

1) Walang kamoti-motibo si Chin para mag threaten kay Juris o kay Carla Lozada man:

A) Si Chin pa nga ang nag-encourage kay Juris na mag-record ng isang solo album, for the sake of variety, because Chin believed in Juris more than Juris believed in herself. Alam ng mga close friends nila yan. Chin is the producer of Juris’ soon-to-be released solo album.

B) Kilala sa band circle ang pagkabatikan ni Chin sa pag self-evolve ng mga bandang pinamunuan niya, from rock band, to show band, to acoustic band, and back to full band. Kasama na dito ang subok na kakayahan niyang mag-arrange ng love songs, soul music, RnB, jazz, at light rock.

C) Hindi maikakaila ang “craftiness” ni Chin sa pagsanay at pagpapatingkad ng talento ng sinumang mapili niyang bokalista, babae man o lalaki. Iyan ay hindi nagawa ng mga dating nakabanda ni Juris.

Kaya mahirap paniwalaan ang naturang bintang. Ang alam ko ay madaling natanggap ni Chin ang eventual departure of, but not the deplorable and high-handed treatment he received from, Carla and Juris. He has bigger and novel ideas to pursue as founder and leader of MYMP.

2) Ngayong malapit ng i-release ang solo album ni Juris, huwag namang gumamit ng threat-gimmick promotion ang mga handlers ni Juris at Chin’s expense.

3) Itong si manager Carla Lozada ay talagang natuto nang mag-dirty tricks buhat ng magka-boyfriend, na anak ng isang ABS-CBN bigwig, na inagaw niya kahit malapit na sanang ikasal yung lalaki.

4) Below the belt yang threat-gimmick promotion na iyan. Minahal din ni Chin si Carla. They lived-in for more than 4 years. During those years ay kinupkop si Carla ng pamilya ni Chin at itinuring na higit pa sa isang miyembro ng pamilya, hanggang sa lumaki ang kita niya upang makaupa na ng apartment. Kahit bukod na sila ng bahay ay may ilang taon pa rin silang on. Chin moved on after their breakup. He is moving on now, after professionally breaking up with Juris, and will continue to evolve like many times before when he parted with Nina, Brix Ferraris, Jimmy Bondoc, Fritz Ednacot, etc. Said partings happened without the pompous maneuverings (pagmamarangya) ng mga handlers ni Juris.

5) Wala namang ganyanan. Kaya tinanggal si Chin ay dahil hindi na niya masikmura silently ang pandidikta sa kanya ng mga planong patungo na sa kabakyaan na naayon sa manipulation ni Carla at ng kanyang mga co-conspirators. Sanay na sanay na nga si Chin sa pag-o-organize at pagre-reorganize ng mga banda. Ang ginagawa ng mga handlers ni Juris ay nilalagyan ng media spin ang sulsol nilang mag-solo na agad si Juris, at si Chin ang fantasy villain sa media spin. We don’t want that to happen, do we?

6) Sinong may matinong pag-iisip ang maniniwalang coincidence lamang ang nalalapit na launching ng solo album ni Juris sa paglabas ng mahalay na threat-gimmick promotion na iyan?

7) Bakit pa magde-demanda si Chin? Eh, di lalong magkaka-media mileage yang threat-gimmick promotion nila, at sa mas murang halaga pa. At isa pa, madaling palusutin ng corporate lawyer ng mga bumu-bully kay Chin na wala daw malice ang PR writer, diyaryo, at source (sic). Even the lawyers of Chin say, “We will be playing into their hands kapag nagdemanda tayo. Who wouldn’t see through their gimmick, anyway?”

8) Alam ng mga fans na naging very protective, like an elder brother, si Chin kay Juris sa mga madilim na panahon noong sinalbahe si Juris ng nakarelasyon niyang kabanda na two-timer; noong may boyfriend siyang may asawa na, during her senior year in college; at, noon din may karelasyon siyang Cebu DJ na may girlfriend na noon.

9) Chin believes that his and Juris’ talents are enough to make the solo album project (not this messy start of her solo career) a success. Kaya tigilan na iyang counter-productive na threat-gimmick promotion na iyan. Siguradong magba-backfire lang yan.

10) Remember what Chin said just recently to his sympathizers, “All good things come to an end. Every ending is a beginning…I’ve forgiven them.”

Subject: “THE TRUTH BEHIND MYMP’S SUPPOSED BREAK UP.”

Comment of Cold Water Douser on Ricardo Lo’s article

A) Mr. Lo’s title is misleading. MYMP didn’t break up —-Juris wanted to go solo with the confirmed urging of Carla and her backers. It is natural for well established bands to periodically change its members or reorganize, and this is such a period. Chin was the victim of a coup de tat.

B) Mr. Lo wrote, “…Noel (Ferrer) called up the manager to congratulate him (it’s a her, Carla Lozada, not a him) and MYMP and that’s when he got a little shocker.”
Obviously, neither Noel Ferrer nor Ricardo Lo were in the know about the past three month’s ramblings between Chin and Carla, to become “a little shocked.” However, if they were quite knowledgeable of such ramblings, the word “shocker” suits a questionable purpose to be consumed by fans.

C) “Nalungkot ako,” sighed Noel. This sighing implies regret. But if Mr. Ferrer is a friend of Carla from whom she asked the favour to receive an important possible award, weren’t they that close to have shared “shocking” inside info months before?

D) Mr. Lo wrote, “Juris quit the duo after Chin “booted” her and manager Carla Lozada out due to disagreement over an “exposure” in the A.S.A.P. Sessionista.”

How can Mr. Lo say, “quit…after being booted out?” It’s a contradiction. Mr. Lo purveys Juris’ quitting as a reaction to her being booted out. But, if a person was allegedly booted out, how can a booted-out person still quit? A booted out person must either accept it, or protest it. The use of the word “booted out”, again, suites a questionable purpose putting Chin in a very bad light.

How could have Chin possibly “booted out” two members, only to be left alone by all? He did no booting out. He was the victim of a coup de tat. And we all know that a coup de tat does not occur overnight. It involves planning supported by co-conspirators. Who were they? Hmm. Hmm.

E) Mr. Lo wrote, “Added Noel, ‘Juris is slated to launch her long overdue solo album under Star Records, with five songs produced by Chin’…” There we have it! That’s the crux! Close MYMP fans know that Chin was the evolver of the band’s recording genre: from acoustic recordings (2 CDs) then to full band recordings (which comprised the rest of MYMP’s CDs). Chin wanted to produce, since a year ago, a solo album of Juris as a continuation of his evolution, for listening variety. Chin wanted a Juris solo album project, not an immediate Juris solo career.

That was Chin’s mistake. This is now all about money for every lurking predator. Remember what Juris said in a broad sheet? She declared then, “My recording career started with MYMP. It will end with MYMP.” Would Carla and her co-conspirators stop luring Juris after she said that? The Beatles sang, “The best things in life are free, but you can give that to the birds and bees. Just give me money…”

F) Mr. Lo wrote, “No, Juris won’t be using her M.Y.M.P. ‘connections’ anymore.”

The so-called MYMP connections are constantly being used by Carla Lozada, not by Chin nor Juris. She controls the bookings of the band. Chin simply overheard Carla transacting with a prospective client saying something to this effect, “…Ok lang, kahit split na kami, buong banda pa rin ang tututog sa concert ninyo, at huwag kayong mag-aalala na baka masira ang expectations ng mga sponsors at ticket buyers. Di na kailangang palitan pa ang mga tarpaulin at baguhin ang mga advertisements.”

G) Mr. Lo wrote, “According to Noel, Chin told her, ‘Magkakamatayan tayo kapag ginamit n’yo ang pangalan ng M.Y.M.P.’ “

This is a media spin by, you can guess who. Chin actually said, “P___ ___ __, sinulot n’yo na buong banda pati hanapbuhay ko gusto n’yong solohin? Mamamatay muna ako bago n’yo magamit ang pangalan ng MYMP, na para sa ina ko.”

That’s what Chin said. I was there. Don’t rewrite the history of MYMP.

H) Mr. Lo continues in the same paragraph, “…But what’s in a name?…”

Has he conveniently forgetten how Arnel Pineda had been singing for 20 years without getting anywhere, until he hooked up with Journey? It was also true with Brix Ferraris, whose voice deserves international acclaim. How did he fare without South Border? How about the very talented Top Suzara when he split with Free Style?

Of course, Nina has a much different voice pitch and persona compared to Juris. Nina is Nina. She is a natural stand alone. Let’s watch how this debate unravels.

I) Mr. Lo continues further in the same paragraph, “…The people are after Juris’ voice, not so much the duo’s name. She will sound just as well even under another name.”

Yeah, sure. Nina knows the source of Juris’ dissimulated advantage. And so does Kyla, Jimmy Bondoc, Paolo Santos, Pido, and other contemporaries of the three female competitors.

Mr. Lo needs a more in-depth analysis of the success of MYMP. Ms. Barbara Barbaro of PUP, Manila, stirringly commented on this, also somewhere in the Internet. But her comment no. 8 was scandalous, to say the least. Juris must not be exposed this way. Ms. Barbaro’s comment no. 8, somehow, clouded her factual and incisive commentary. Her anger got the better of her.

At the end of the article, Mr. Noel Ferrer even gave assurances concerning Juris, that spoke a lot about symbiotic relationships. Enough said.

Rivermaya & Gibo Teodoro, Together In A Historical Collaboration

Rivermaya has just released a brand new song which is not part of their new album Closest Thing To Heaven. It is the product of a very interesting collaboration between the band and Presidential Candidate Gibo Teodoro.

Rivermaya’s drummer and “Lipad” composer Mark Escueta relates:

“When I first heard Gibo’s Radio Ad, I was blown away by this line “Sa pananaw ko, matagal na nating gustong lumipad”. Tama siya eh. Hindi lumpo ang taong bayan. Nanggigigil tayong lahat kasi magagaling tayo pero ang daming humahadlang. We just need the right person in the cockpit and Rivermaya believes that Gibo is THE one. Gibo’s words of wisdom have given birth to a new song from Rivermaya, and this song is for everybody, especially the graduating students of 2010. We would like to thank Gibo and his team for having faith in Rivermaya and for giving us the opportunity to write this song. Handa na tayong lumipad! :) ”

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to check in and share a bit of what's going on with me right now. I am so excited! I feel very lucky to be a part of Tim Burton's new film Alice In Wonderland.

It all started off with me designing an Abbey Dawn/Alice In Wonderland collaboration for my fashion line at Kohls. I was working at the Disney offices going though graphic images from the movie for my designs and getting up to speed on the movie project. I was really inspired and excited about the film at that moment, so I asked Disney if they would like me to write the theme song for the film. They went back to Tim and he said yeah give it a go.

I was so excited when I got the news! I sat down on my piano immediately and wrote the song. I wanted to come up with something a little on the moodier side to fit his film. I think the piano adds a cool dramatic element to the song.

I met with Tim Burton and he played me some clips from his film. I finished the song and he really liked it and said he wanted to put it in the film as the first end credit song. OMG soooo cool! Hehe. Disney also wanted to use it as there marketing song around the film and so I shot a music video. So fun!!!!!

Working on this project was such a treat! It was such a great experience and Tim Burton was an absolute pleasure. He is very smart. I am so grateful for this opportunity...and can't wait to see the whole film!!!!

My Chemical Romance Is Satanic?

I am just browsing for some information in the Internet about one of my favorite band back in collage when this question pop up in my Google browser "My Chemical Romance Is Satanic?". Wow what a shocking topic, not just one but several forums in the Internet were talking about this stuff. I'm thinking how could people think for a band like this? Well i think it's all about their song "Welcome To The Black Parade".

Some remarkable opinions i found in several forums about the topic:

NightRaven: its usually hard to judge whether a band is satanic or not from the song as its really hard to be able to tell from the lyrics of just one song...
U can see above it could well be just a sad song or one must think deeper and look deeper to find a link with the gospel..but personally... i would take that song as anti christ... one has to know the gospel to really decipher what the song is saying.. and to me.. its really... a no go..

D23: Fact:
Listening to songs over and over again can make you sympathise with the singer
Thus, probably listening to songs with so-called "satanic" lyrics might cause you to become influenced by the singer.
Fiction:
Songs with satanic lyrics make plants die.
Fact:
Poor care of plants make plants die.
My opinion is: Music is an art, meaning that the singer/lyricist/band is trying to portray their own emotions/messages through it, thus there are many different kinds of music. If the emotion/message they portray makes you uncomfortable, don't listen to it. Just because it has some reference to dark stuff like devil or whatever doesn't make the song evil, and there is probably no vile intention from the lyricist to spread anti-Christ messages. Most likely its just a theme he wants to put through (like a dark period of his life etc).

AgentVX: On topic...I really think people should just form their own opinions. Don't let anyone make you believe that something is or isn't satanic...listen to it and decide for yourself. There's a lot of misinformation going around, urban legends, rumours, blatant lies, and stuff that has been taken completely out of context to support extreme points of view.
Believe what you want to believe...listen to what you want to listen to. (in the words of Sheryl Crow...if it makes you happy, it can't be that bad)

Kpop Invasion: 4 Minute Live In Wowowie

The Korean pop girl group 4 Minute performed one of their songs live in Wowowie Philippines, and in ASAP XV too. I'm sure so many Kpop fans out there were starstruck with those 5 Korean hotties.
They still manage to wowed the audiences in the studio even their just doing lip sync in their performance, LOLs (in fairness they gave a sample of their angelic voice on the interview with Mariel Rodrigez after their performance. The audience were amazed when they tried to introduce there selves in a Tagalog Language. I admit, the girls were cute even though i don't understand their songs and what their saying on that interview, good thing that they bring with them their interpreter.
This group still proves that the Korean pop is still making its way here in the Philippine music industry.

Lady Gaga is working on charity projects for Haiti.

The 'Bad Romance’ hitmaker admitted she couldn’t take part on charity single 'We Are The World’ and instead was doing her own thing and is pleased with her endeavours so far.

She said: 'I’ve been working on my own charity projects for Haiti.

'We’ve raised over half a million dollars for Haiti already and we like to work specifically with charities that are based in Haiti itself.

'I donated all of the proceeds from one show worth of ticket sales as well as all of the merchandise from that show and for 24 hours we had a 'Gaga for Haiti’ day where everything that was bought on the website, every dollar went to Haiti.'

The 23-year-old singer, who is currently in the middle of her 'Monster’s Ball’ world tour, claimed to be too busy to appear at the recording of 'We Are The World’, alongside stars including Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles, despite speculation she had recorded vocals for the charity track.

She told US TV show 'Access Hollywood’: 'I’ve actually been in rehearsal for my new tour, but I was never supposed to do 'We Are The World.’ So that’s a rumour. I believe that they may have asked, yes, about it, but I was unable to do it.'

Taylor Swift Wins Top Award At The 52nd Grammy Awards

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards were held in Los Angeles. The show jump started with a phenomenal performance by international superstar Lady Gaga and the legendary Elton John. Lady Gaga opened the telecast with her mega hit, "Pokerface" and then disappeared into a pit of fire, only to return to a piano decorated with disfigured arms opposite Elton John. They sang a medley of "Speechless" and John's own "Your Song." By the end of the night, Lady Gaga's had won Best Dance Recording for "Poker Face" and Best Electronic Dance Album for her debut, The Fame.

The show had a number of artistic collaborations including Mary J. Blige and classical recording artist Andrea Bocelli who sang a rendition of "Bridge Over Troubled Water." The proceeds from the song, available exclusively on iTunes, will go towards the much needed relief efforts in Haiti.

MCA Music's Smokey Robinson joined Celine Dion, Usher, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson to sing "Earth Song" in the highly anticipated 3-D tribute to Michael Jackson. The Black Eyed Peas put on an energy-filled spectacle for their hits "Imma Be" and "I Gotta Feeling." The pop group took home three awards for Best Pop Performance ("I Gotta Feeling"), Best Pop Album (The E.N.D.) and Best Short Form Music Video ("Boom Boom Pow").

One of the night's big winners was Universal Republic/Big Machine artist Taylor Swift who received a total of four awards including the coveted Album of the Year for Fearless, an incredible accomplishment for the young country singer. Other wins for Swift included Best Female Country Performance and Best Country Song for "White Horse" and Best Country Album. Swift also took to the stage for a special duet with Stevie Nicks.

The show concluded with newcomer Drake performing his smash "Forever" alongside hip-hop heavyweights Lil Wayne and Eminem. Eminem returned to the spotlight last year with Relapse and he took home Best Rap Album (Relapse) and Best Rap Performance ("Crack A Bottle") at the ceremony. His follow-up album, Relapse 2 is due later this year.

Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Squekquel Movie In Review

Oh wait a minute, did i say movie in review? Yah i did, now i'll be reviewing a movie by a super rock star chipmunks of course with Alvin, still related in music right?
Actually I'm not a die hard fan of the chipmunks, i did not even watch their first movie or any episode of their TV series, But that was totally changed after watching their new movie Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Squekquel, yah it's cool, even though I'm just alone watching the movie still I can't keep myself smiling and laughing from the start until it was finished, I'm totally amazed. And by the way guys the chipmunks got some new friends now, the Chipettes( i could say girls are always cuter than the guys) of course Alvin and the rest of the group did rock again the whole movie with of course Charice Pempengco the one who made me proud again that I'm a Pilipino who sung "No One" by Alicia Keys in the movie.
For me the highlights of the movie are when the Chipettes sung "Hot 'N' Cold" and "Single Ladies", and when the Chipmunks sung "We Are Family" and " Shake Your Groove Thing" with the Chipettes on their final performance that made their school win 25,000(the chipmunks really studied in school this time).
And most funny part of the movie was when Ian sung "Single Ladies" using sock puppets in replacement of the chipettes. Ha ha ha, you must see that part, that was totally fun.
All in all the movie was cute, and I'm proud to say "Chipmunks you rock my world, you know you did" uhhh.

Scorpions Will End Their Group Career With A New Album "Sting In The Tail" And A Seven Concerts In Germany

The famous band Scorpions who sung great songs like Always Somewhere, Still Loving You, Dust In The Wind and many more hits just wrote a goodbye letter for their fans, they'll end the scorpions legend with the new album, sting in the tail and seven concerts in Germany. It means that they will no longer rock us like a Hurricane. Here's what the letter they wrote:

Important Message to our Fans

It was always our pleasure, our purpose in life, our passion and we were fortunate enough to make music for you - whether it was live on stage or in the studio, creating new songs.

While we were working on our album these past few months, we could literally feel how powerful and creative our work was – and how much fun we were still having, in the process. But there was also something else: We want to end the Scorpion’s extraordinary career on a high note. We are extremely grateful for the fact that we still have the same passion for music we’ve always had since the beginning. This is why, especially now, we agree we have reached the end of the road. We finish our career with an album we consider to be one of the best we have ever recorded and with a tour that will start in our home country Germany and take us to five different continents over the next few years.

I know this blog just talks about music, but maybe i could be a doctor wanna be on this post as long as my article still connects to music.
Would you agree that sometimes while your listening into your favorite music on a high volume someone might be angry of what your doing, maybe it's normal if your just listening to a whole crap thing and not a music at all, but if your listening to something good and somebody's serious to cut off what your enjoying maybe that person had this disgusting thing called "Melophobia"- it is the fear or hatred of music.
This is what Etta James wrote about Melophobia:
Melophobia: Fear, or hatred, of music: symptoms include breathlessness; excessive sweating; nausea; dry mouth; heart palpitations; inability to think or speak clearly; fear of dying; becoming mad or losing control; a sensation of detachment from reality.

The siblings – Marlon, Tito, Jackie and Jermaine – have admitted wherever they go, they can see and feel their brother Michael.

Tito, 56, said: 'No matter what we’re doing – working in the studio or rehearsing dance steps – there’s an emptiness there. You feel it constantly. It’s bearing down on you.

'Emotionally it’s very difficult to sing these songs without Michael. Just to hear him on the radio today is very emotional.'

Jackie also claimed he can feel the 'Thriller’ singer around him.

He said: 'Michael is with us 24/7. Every time you turn around there he is on TV. He’s always with us.'

Jackie added he didn’t believe that Michael was gone when he was first told.

He said: 'Someone told me my brother was dead. It was very hard for me to believe.

'So I called my mother and she was screaming and hollering and crying.'

Marlon, 52, admitted the death was difficult to deal with.

A self-taught singer, dancer and musician (he plays the guitar, drums, piano and trumpet) who still maintains his 4.0 average in school, Justin is made of pure talent. Not to mention a boyish charm that sent tweens, and even some adults, swooning.
It seemed like his journey to success was already paved for him. He joined a local singing contest called Statford Idol at the age of 12. though competing against kids his age that had vocal training, he still placed second. his singing found its way to the World Wide Web for his friends and family to watch whenever they can't watch him perform live. The YouTube channel kidrauhl had caught the attention of the online community and in two years, it already racked up millions of hits. It's through YouTube that his manager, Scooter Braun, from So So Def, discovered him. He was just 13 then and he was all ready to conquer the bigger stage.
Because if his undeniable talent, his idols Justin Timberlake and Usher both offered him a record deal. Eventually he signed with Usher, whom he had funny encounter before he became part of Island Def Jam Records: "Right when we flew into Atlanta, Scooter drove us into the studio and usher was there in the parking lot. That was my first time ever being out of Canada so I went up to him and was like, 'Hey usher, I love your songs, do you want me to sing you one?' He was like, 'No little buddy, just come inside, it's cold out.'" Now there on the same record label, Justin still teases Usher about their "first encounter".
One Time came to the Philippines like a super typhoon, overtaking huge acts in the MYX Daily Top Ten and in the local radio stations. Justin bieber is a complete package- He's got the looks, the talent, and the hit songs. It won't take long for him to become a music superstar. But he's like every one of us in every way. He's just an ordinary kid from Canada who dreamt big. His success may be larger than he imagined it would be, but his heart can overpower any of its challenges.

He is a proud supporter of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals(PETA), that encourages people to adopt homeless pets at animal shelters instead of buying them at stores. APO Hiking Society has finally decided to disband after 40 years of unforgettable music. The news broke out during the press conference for their Valentine concert this Februrary 13 at the SMX Convention Center. It's been their plan do stop doing stuff as APO last year but they think it was timely to do it in their 40th year as a group. According to Buboy Garovillo, the creative process doesn't come with age. They've been struggling to get their thing together these past years. All of them expressed their interest in different fields and not just focused on their music, since they've been doing it for the longest time. Their valentine concert is everybody's last chance to see the trio together. Jim Paredes said in his Tumblr account that they promise to give the people the best shows in their final gigs as a group.

But this is only a goodbye to the well-loved trio. They'll still be doing their own work, business, and of course music for some of the members. They'll push through until May because they endorse presidential candidate NoyNoy Aquino. The Last Valentines nAPO will be the last grand performance of the group and they are inviting everyone touched by their music to come out and join them for their last performance as APO Hiking Society.

Their friendship and music spanned since their days at Ateneo de Manila University in 1969. They have produced a number of hits that are truly Filipino and nationalistic like Handog Ng Pilipino Sa Mundo for the People Power Revolution in 1986 and used for Former President Cory Aquino's funeral last August 1, 2009. MYX had a tribute cd for the trio entitled Kami nAPO Muna and Kami nAPO Muna Ulit that featured covers of their hit songs by some of the most sought after OPM artists that time. They were also awarded a MYX Magna Award during the 2007 MYX Music Awards in recognition to their contribution to the Filipino Music Industry.

The picture you see above are the BEFORE and AFTER photo of the group Black Eyed Peas, On the first photo those Rastafarian look alike was Taboo, Will I Am, and Apl de Ap, Can you spot the difference between the two pictures? Yes Fergie was not on the first photo, that was the Black Eyed peas way way back 1995 with their first album Behind The Front. Fergie just joined the group in their album Elephunk. Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson is the replacement of the group's background singer Kim Hill, who left the band in 2000. Originally, Nicole Scherzinger (lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls) was approached to join the Peas. She was forced to decline because she was a member of Eden's Crush and was under contract.
Many people posting comments on Youtube that Black Eyed Peas would be better without Fergie, that Fergie just ruined the group. But can you imagine, if without Fergie could it be the Black Eyed Peas step on the top of the top with their hit singles like Where Is The Love, the jaw dropping My Humps, Shut Up and the Back to Back hits Boom Boom Pow and I Got A Feeling? The answer would be, Maybe not, because Fergie is Fergie, the groups muse.
Maybe we can say we love their styles way back without Fergie, the rap battle style of the group who later changed when Fergie Joined. But just take a look again on the two photos above, it just portraits how the group improves after Fergie joined. The Dirty Look Rasta to Fashionista, from Amateur to Professionals, and from a Simple group to a Famous one. Just one thing I'm sure, Black Eyed Peas couldn't be Black Eyed Peas without this crazy hot mama Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson. Kudos Black Eyed Peas.

Research has shown that stress can be handled by music. Music enters into the brain cells thus affecting the human brain. Medical scientists have proven that a person that is stressed out can actually listen to some kind of music and become well. How? The researchers said that since stress comes as a result of life events such as starting a new family, starting a new business, starting a new job, and relocating to a new place, one can actually listen to good music and feel good because as stress touches the human mind negatively so good music also touches the human mind positively. Music helps you to forget the stressful life events and remember the momentous events that once happened in your life.

Depression is a disease caused by so many factors including stress, alcoholic addiction, drug abuse or addiction, smoking, social problems such as unemployment, family crisis, divorce, conflict, and imprisonment. Depression is also caused by economic problems such as poverty, and failure in business. Depression is characterized by weakness, headache, confusion, and loss of concentration. Good music makes one to remember happy moments or good days; if you play music about love it makes you feel like falling in love again though you have had several heartbreaks. And such good feeling makes you healthy.

Anxiety is another health problem that can be controlled by music. Anxiety is a side effect of some major health problems such as cancer of the liver and cancer of the breast. Good music makes you feel relaxed and eliminates the pains inherited from these diseases. It removes every factor responsible for anxiety and makes you feel all right.

Cool good music helps to control your breathing and heart rate. Poor breathing rate could be as a result of lung problems such as common cold, tuberculosis, and pneumonia. Good music helps to calm down the cells and tissues that make up the lungs thereby bringing down the patient's breathing and heart rate to normal.

Good music can send you to sleep. And you need to know that sleep puts your body in a healthy condition. Sleep takes away the effects of stress, depression and anxiety from a person.

You don't have to underrate the power of good music. It performs unimaginable wonders. I think music should be classified as one of the wonders of the world. It is a universal language spoken by everyone across the world.

Play good music when you feel unhealthy and it will certainly ease off some of those nasty pains.

Myspace recently assured imeem.com users that their playlists are safe and that they are currently duplicating every users' playlist and will migrate them on to Myspace Music as soon as possible. Myspace assured that features and functionality that users were used to at imeem will soon find their way onto MySpace, and compliment the existing platform alongside free full-song streaming, artist profiles, music videos, and more.
