Lady Gaga's Ex-Boyfriend Told Her She Would Never Be A Pop Star
She told America's Cosmopolitan magazine: "I had a boyfriend who told me I'd never succeed, never be nominated for a Grammy, never have a hit song, and that he hoped I'd fail. I said to him, 'Someday, when we're not together, you won't be able to order a cup of coffee at the f***ing deli without hearing or seeing me.' "
The 23-year-old starlet has had enormous chart success since she launched her career last year.
As well as releasing several number one tracks, Lady Gaga - real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta - has scooped numerous awards for her work, including a Grammy for her debut album 'The Fame' and another for her single 'Poker Face'.
Prior to this, Lady Gaga claims she put up with a lot of negative comments and only stuck at the music industry because of her unrealistic levels of ambition.
She said: "I ate s**t for so long, being told I didn't fit the mold and that I was 'too pop' or 'too theater'... I've always been delusionally ambitious to the point where people don't understand me."

Jason Castro Live At The Ayala Malls This March!
This March get mesmerized while Jason Castro belts out colorful summer lovin’ tunes in Manila! You’re in for a sweet summer and post-Valentine treat from Warner Music Philippines and the The Ayala Malls as Jason Castro is looking forward to serenading his Manila & Cebu fans. Catch him live at these series of shows:
March 18: Trinoma
March 19: Glorietta 5
March 20: Ayala Center Cebu
March 21: Market! Market!
Castro-A multi-talented singer and guitarist, was among the most popular and talented artists in American Idol history, entering the record books as the first contestant to play an instrument on the show. His performance of the Leonard Cohen-penned classic "Hallelujah" proved such an audience favorite that the late, great Jeff Buckley's rendition of the song hit #1 on the iTunes chart the following week, selling an astonishing 178,000 digital singles. Jason scored a chart-topping single of his own a few weeks later with his interpretation of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow," which also hit #1 on iTunes after a show-stopping performance of the song on American Idol. Upon the season's conclusion, Castro was among the stars of the hugely successful "American Idols LIVE! 2008 Tour 2008"
The 22-year-old Texan earned himself a devoted fan base eager to hear what he would do once freed to perform his own songs. Those folks will get their chance with the release of Castro’s self-titled debut album on Atlantic Records. His season’s winner, David Cook, and runner-up, David Archuleta, both released debut albums about six months after the season finale. But no one rushed Jason Castro to pin down his style, and he certainly didn’t rush himself. It’s among the most sure-footed records, debut or otherwise, by an “Idol” contestant from any season. Partly that’s because Mr. Castro has had time to marinate, and to woodshed.
The heydays of the two David’s are over, it’s time to make way for Jason Castro’s music to fill the days of your summer and forward. Coming soon the Philippines is his The Love Uncompromised EP, a prelude to a full album this set to be released at a later date under Warner Music Philippines. For now you can enjoy “Let’s Just Fall In Love Again” on you cell phone and get the heart-on-sleeve and toe-tapping pop ringtune when you text JC to 5677!
Jason Castro Live at the Ayala Malls is brought to you by Warner Music Philippines & The Ayala Malls!

Rihanna Gets Birthday Surprize
The 'Rude Boy’ singer was 'shocked' by the bash put together by baseball player Matt Kemp in Phoenix, Arizona - where Kemp is currently training - as she was only expecting a small gathering of friends.
A source said: 'It was so sweet and she was really surprised. She looked just beautiful.'
Matt organised Caribbean food to be served to Barbados-born Rihanna and also reportedly bought her a custom-made diamond necklace.
The party was extra-special for Rihanna as she cancelled her 21st birthday celebrations last year in the aftermath of her assault at the hands of then-boyfriend Chris Brown early in February 2009.
The source added to website 'E! Online’: 'Matt really wanted to do something nice for Rihanna this year since she didn’t have much of a 21st birthday last year. It was just her closest friends, good Jamaican food, a photo booth, dancing and a nice cake.' Matt, 25, has been linked to Rihanna since they were seen holidaying together in Mexico in January, but he has played down romance rumours.
He said: 'Rihanna is just a friend, a good friend of mine. We went down to Mexico and had fun together.'

Avril Lavigne Dating Brody Jenner
The 'Sk8er Boi’ singer – who filed for divorce from rocker husband Deryck Whibley last October, a month after they separated – has been enjoying a low-key romance with the 26-year-old reality TV star for several weeks.
A source said: "They're hooking up but they're keeping it low-key."
Despite trying to keep their romance out of the public eye, the couple recently enjoyed a dinner at Los Angeles restaurant Koi before heading to nearby nightspot Voyeur, where they amazed onlookers with their flirty behaviour.
Another source told E! Online: "You can tell they're into each other and both like to have a good time. They're cute together."
Since splitting from Deryck – who she was married to for three years – Avril, 25, has been romantically linked with actor Wilmer Valderrama and oil heir Brandon Davis, but pals insisted she was just friends with both men.
Brody was most recently dating Playboy playmate Jayde Nicole, but they split in December.
After revealing she and Deryck were to divorce, Avril insisted the pair would remain friends.
She said: "Deryck and I have been together for six-and-a-half years. We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21. I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship.
"I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know, and I love him with all my heart. Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note."

Paramore ‘The Only Exception’ Video
A deeply personal song for Hayley (Williams, vocals), this acoustic ballad gives an unapologetic glimpse into the inner workings of what was happening in her head over the past two years, a reality that was initially scary for the 21-year-old to advertise to the rest of the world. 'Now that it’s all said and on paper I’m not as insecure about [these lyrics] because I think these songs (on the album) form a full story that people are going to be able to connect with.' The Only Exception touches on how her parents’ relationship has influenced the way she deals with, and thinks about, love.
The video for The Only Exception is available to watch on http://paramore.net now, and features Hayley’s father. Based on a treatment written by Hayley, it was directed by long time Paramore collaborator Brandon Chesbro.
After a sell out UK tour which culminated at Wembley Arena on Dec 19th, the band are currently on a tour of Japan and Australia. Paramore are reported to be coming back to Europe this summer for various festivals. Exact dates to be announced.

A source said: "Matthew and Gaga have been dating for months. They were together on and off for more than a year, but called it off when mixing work and love became too difficult."
After the pair first went their separate ways, Gaga began dating an entrepreneur named Speedy while Matthew started a new relationship and became a father.
However, both romances failed and the former couple have now reconciled after growing close on the star's "Monster Ball" tour.

`My Sharona` Singer Dies Aged 57
The Knack were best know for writing the classic 1979 hit `My Sharona`.
Lead singer Doug Fieger lost his battle with cancer on Sunday (February 14, 2010). He was 57.
Sharona is a real person. Doug Fieger met Sharona Alperin when she was 16. She is now a real estate agent in Los Angeles.
Guitarist Berton Averre wrote the riff years before he joined The Knack.
Even George W. Bush has the song on his iPod.
The Knack released 'Get The Knack’ in 1979. It was a number one album around the world. The next record 'But The Little Girls Understand’ reached no. 15. The third album 'Round Trip’ in 1981 stalled at no. 93.
The Knack broke up in 1982 but reformed in the 90s failing to repeat the original success.
Fieger had been battling lung and brain cancer for a number of years.
In October 2008 he told undercover.com.au that he was undergoing chemotherapy but his condition had been stable for two years. 'It metastasized to my brain and sent microscopic cells into my body that have, over time, been collected by my lymph system. These are very pernicious and hard to treat'.
Doug had two brain tumors removed in August 2006. "The bad news is that this chemo is the last one that is available to me unless some clinical trial comes up so if it doesn't work I'm SOL ! Oh well .....,' he told Undercover in 2008.
Bruce Gary, the drummer for The Knack died from cancer in 2007 at the age of 55.

Kesha Used To Sell Her Clothes To Buy Food
She said: "I can't stand pretentious people. I think growing up without money has taught me not to take myself seriously. I'm the same person I when I was selling clothes to buy a taco for dinner, I just have a few extra bucks."
Kesha also said that when she got her first pay packet after becoming famous, she didn't splash out on any lavish or expensive gifts for herself.
She added: "I bought a 1998 Honda car, which I needed. I don't believe in wasting money when there are people in the world who can't eat. If I earn a lot of money, I'll treat myself, but I'm not going to be ridiculous. I think it's kind of gross.
"I don't like spending money on stuff. I may buy some instruments though."

Madonna Forces 200 Villagers To Move House
The singer has reportedly paid out more than $115,000 to compensate the residents of Blantyre, Malawi, after they were ordered by government officials to make way for her $15 million Raising Malawi Girls Academy.
An official from the commissioner’s office said: "The district commissioner for Lilongwe told the villagers to move off the land and make way for the construction of the academy because it was government land reserved for development projects.'
The villagers had reportedly threatened to block the project – which aims to provide education to 500 impoverished children – unless they were given more cash after being paid $500,000 by the 51-year-old star’s Raising Malawi foundation.
However, they were reportedly told by Anjimile Mtila-Oponyo, a senior official for the charity, they had been given "generous compensation" and had no reason to complain.
According to the source, a local chief advised the residents to 'accept the reality as there is nothing we can do".
The group have been relocated to other villages.
Madonna has two adopted children from Malawi, Mercy, five, and David, four, as well as biological kids Lourdes, 13, and Rocco, nine.

Endorsing Candidate 'Tricky' For Singers, Bands
Among the latest singers to endorse a candidate is pop star Sarah Geronimo, who has endorsed Nacionalista Party standard-bearer Manuel Villar.
Geronimo was tapped to sing Villar's campaign theme "Naging Mahirap," for a reported sum of P20 million. The NP did not confirm the amount paid to Geronimo.
Lakas-Kampi-CMD presidential bet Gilberto "Gibo" Teodoro, meanwhile, has launched new ads featuring popular band Rivermaya, who are seen in the video performing the theme song "Sulong Gibo."
Some bands, however, insist that though they agree to sing campaign jingles or songs for a candidate, that does not automatically mean they are endorsing him or her.
Ely Buendia of the rock band Pupil said that they have been approached by some politicians' handlers to lend some of their songs or to endorse a particular candidate.
However, Buendia, who used to front the seminal 90s said that they will think thoroughly before deciding whom to endorse.
"Right now, we are not endorsing any candidates. First and foremost, banda kami (we are a band). We are musicians and artists. We try to put politics out of the way. We just want to play music," Buendia said.
Meanwhile, the band Hale said they are ready to perform for a candidate whose platform they believe in. "It depends on the candidate. What's their advocacy?," said one of the band's members.
The band SpongeCola, meanwhile, said that they will endorse a candidate if the 'price is right.' Other bands, such as Chichosci, said that they won't allow politicians to ride on their popularity.

Sarah Geronimo Endorses Manny Villar
Geronimo sang Villar’s latest political jingle titled “Naging Mahirap” during the launching of Katropa, a youth group organized by Villar's daughter, Camille. Geronimo has been named the campaign's ambassadress.
Villar's camp said it recognizes Geronimo's patience and hard work that resulted in her success.
The senator's camp, however, refused to confirm if Geronimo was paid P20 million in exchange for her endorsement.
Geronimo, on the other hand, said she believes television host-actress Kris Aquino will not take it against her once she learns that she is supporting Villar in the coming May elections. Kris’s brother, Liberal Party (LP) standard bearer Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, is currently Villar’s biggest rival in the presidential race.
Aside from Geronimo, Villar had earlier gained endorsements from Comedy King Dolphy and popular noontime host Willie Revillame.
Villar, meantime, defended himself from critics who are hitting him for getting celebrity endorsers and spending huge amounts in his campaign. He pointed out that, unlike the LP standard bearer, he has no popular parents nor strong connections in show business.
Villar also denied claims that he is the real candidate of President Arroyo, and that they made a secret pact assuring President Arroyo's position in Congress.
He said: "Puro paninira. Tigilan na iyan. Matagal ko nang hindi nakakausap si Pangulong Gloria."

MYMP Introduces New Vocalist, Will It Be The Same Without Juris?
The group, with Juliet in tow, is set to do a pre-Valentine’s Day concert at the Music Museum titled “MYMP Now” this February 12. Chin Alcantara, MYMP guitarist and founder, said he was impressed by Juliet’s demo tapes and she is a welcome addition to the group.
It was October last year when Juris Fernandez left the band for creative and personal reasons and pursued her solo singing career. Fernandez signed a contract with Star Records after leaving MYMP.
The group, when Fernandez was still around, was able to do six albums and later on was chosen as the 1st PMPC Star Awards Best Duo/Group Artist of the Year for Music.
Though with new vocalist, Alcantara cleared that the group will not shift from acoustic music to a new genre.
He said they will just explore the vocal range of Juliet so that they will know more the path to follow on.
The band is hoping and praying that fans will show their undying love and support for their music even with new vocalist at hand
